Procrastination is a Decision
Putting off making the decision to recreate your reality is a decision to NOT change your life. We all have days when we put off until tomorrow what we should do today. In fact, that’s probably the reason you are where you are today.
Again, we are asking you to have the courage to face the truth… your truth. Are you doing anything today that will change the course of your life? Did you do anything yesterday that could be life changing? What about last week, or last month, or last year? Or, like so many are you continuing to let life happen?
If you are habitually putting off until tomorrow… procrastinating… you have decided that you are comfortable where you are. Each day that you decide to accept life as it is, you are confessing that your life is just what you want it to be.
The longer you wait to make the change in course, the harder it becomes. Read about inertia from a previous post.
Again, think back over your life goals, especially those dreams and goals you once possessed before too much of life happened. As you recall all the goals you thought you would achieve in life, perhaps you should take some time to mind the gap. Think of all the things you had planned to accomplish by the time you reached your present age. Look at what you have … or have not… accomplished.
Chances are you have made more life decisions than you think. Chances are you have made the decision to do nothing to accomplish your goals. Perhaps, you have procrastinated your way to your present reality.
The good news is that today is a new day. Are you happy putting off making the changes necessary to get you back on track? Or, are you ready to take action… TODAY? Do it now.
In closing, I will relate something my father used to say to me when I was a child procrastinating about doing this or that. “Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today. If you like it enough today, chances are you can do it twice tomorrow.” Of course, he was probably talking about making the bed or doing homework. But, over time I have found that there is more truth in his little saying that even he probably realized.
